Katrina Meng

Katrina is a Masters of Applied Science student at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto.

Previously, Katrina worked on a project aimed at developing a clinically viable approach to 3D print diagnostic sockets for upper-limb prosthetics. Through the optimization of printing parameters and exploration of post-processing techniques, Katrina successfully created transparent, rigid, and thermoformable sockets using Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) 3D printing. These innovative sockets are now being utilized in clinical settings, demonstrating their potential to enhance prosthetic care delivery by offering a resource effective alternative to traditional methods.
