Pictured - panelists Casey, Emily and Abdi weigh in on the value of research and community participation
Moderated by Holland Bloorview’s Dolly Menna-Dack, the Lived Experience Keynote panel gave client participants the opportunity to share the ways they had contributed to, and benefited from, research in the Bloorview Research Institute.
Panelists said that research was a way for them to help contribute to technologies, treatments and solutions for others with disabilities, as well as to improve their own quality of life. They touched on the value of participating actively in their community, as well as challenges they have faced due to their disabilities, including problems with the youth-to-adult transition model for disability services.
Thank you Casey, Abdi and Emily for your insight and contributions to research at Holland Bloorview!
