Danielle Bovolini
Irene and Danielle

Danielle Bovolini is the most talented nurse I have encountered in my years of clinical practice. She is dedicated, effective, thorough, empathetic, and brilliant. She is a stellar example of an interdisciplinary team member. She works to her fullest scope of practice, offers her clinical opinion, is willing to disagree and talk about it, and engages other members of the team in creating the care plan. She is quick to identify where an issue at the family/client level might be telling us something important about how our care at Holland Bloorview is organized and then puts in the time to help improve those processes.

Nicolas exemplifies what it means to provide compassionate, skilled care while demonstrating leadership and teamwork. He is an invaluable asset to his team, and I believe his dedication to patients and colleagues truly warrants recognition. One of Nicolas' greatest strengths is his ability to connect with and support families during their most challenging times. His compassion and active listening skills are unparalleled, making families feel heard and understood. Whether it's explaining complex medical information or offering a comforting presence, Nicolas ensures that families are not only informed but also feel supported throughout the care process. His approach provides much-needed reassurance during emotionally trying times, fostering trust and a sense of security for families.

We are pleased to nominate Michelle Goh, Ambulatory Care Nurses in ENS program, for the DAISY Award in recognition of her outstanding compassion, dedication and commitment to patient- and family- centered care. Since joining ENS a year ago, Michelle has consistently demonstrated a strength-based and trauma-informed approach in her work with families navigating complex medical, developmental and psychosocial challenges. Her ability to build trust and maintain engagement with families in crises is both commendable and impactful.

Louise Rudden
Louise

Louise's leadership in autonomic dysreflexia (AD) management for clients with spinal cord injury (SCI) exemplifies Holland Bloorview's vision of empowering families through innovative, strength-based care. She spearheaded the development and national implementation of our AD protocol, collaborating with multidisciplinary stakeholders to ensure safe, evidence-based practice. Louise designed and distributed emergency AD recognition cards to frontline clinicians, enabling nurses and pharmacists to identify and respond to AD signs swiftly and confidently. Her AD education workshop series deepened staff competence and engagement, fostering professional growth through case-based learning and interdisciplinary mentorship.
