What Will Your Child Gain?
- Skill Development: Children will enhance their problem-solving abilities by tackling robotics challenges, working collaboratively with peers, and developing effective communication strategies.
- Independence: The program emphasizes making choices, completing tasks independently, and practicing self-regulation, empowering participants to take ownership of their learning.
- Social Skills: Group activities are designed to foster interaction, collaboration, and teamwork, helping children build meaningful connections and learn to work effectively in diverse settings.
- Life Skills: Robotics lessons connect to real-world applications, teaching participants how technology can be used in daily life while encouraging adaptability and confidence.
Eligibility requirements:
- Participants must be able to engage safely in a structured group program. Due to the nature of the program, equipment and collaborative learning environment, this program is not suitable for participants who may exhibit physical aggression, self-injury, and/or property destruction.
- Participants must be 9–14 years of age (or demonstrate comparable math/readiness skills) as of March 2026. If your child has a diagnosis relevant to learning or behavior supports, please let us know during intake so we can plan appropriate accommodations.
- Participants should be able to remain seated for about 20 minutes and follow 3-step instructions with usual support.
- Participants should demonstrate an interest in the robotics program and be motivated to work towards a goal developed in collaboration with their family and Therapeutic Recreational Specialist.
- Participants are required to attend an intake, to establish goals before the program begins. Families that are new to the Robotics program will be required to attend a 45-minute “Meet and Greet” to become acquainted with the space and staff.
Important Dates:
- Wednesday November 12 at 8:00 AM - Registration OPENS and you can SUBMIT your registration
- Monday December 8, 2025, at noon - Registration CLOSES (additional registrants will be added to a waiting list)
- December 9th - 11th, 2025: Meet and Greet day for new registrants from 4 pm to 8 pm each night. (see below)
- Friday December 19, 2025, at noon – Families will be informed if they have received a spot in the program (additional registrants will be added to a waiting list)
Additional dates and information:
If your child is new to Holland Bloorview Robotics Program, we’ll schedule a 45-minute in-person “Meet and Greet” between December 9 – 11, 2025.
During this visit, we’ll:
- Learn more about your child’s needs and any support that may help them succeed.
- Give you and your child a chance to explore the program space and meet our staff.
- Late registrants who are new to the program will be contacted for a ‘Meet and Greet’ if a space becomes available.
- Friday December 19th, 2025: Camp confirmations will be sent out. If your child does not receive a spot in camp, they will be placed on the wait list.
