Community Snoezelen pool

Snoezelen room and pool are open to Holland Bloorview clients, community agencies, schools and support organizations.

Holland Bloorview’s community Snoezelen room and pool are open to Holland Bloorview clients, community agencies, schools and support organizations for children and adults with disabilities.

Pre-registration and payment is required

  • $14.94 (includes HST) per client per session
  • $18.33 (includes HST)  per sibling per session
  • $74.83 (includes HST) per group session (maximum of six children or five adult clients)

Please note: Priority is given to clients who have a disability. Siblings are able to attend  if space is available within sessions and must also have 1:1 support in the water.

Spring 2020 Snoezelen pool (Online registration opens Thursday March 5 at 9:30 a.m.)

Please pick the session that might be BEST suited to your child or client as opposed to the preferred time. Should we feel the needs of your client or child would be better met in a different session, Holland Bloorview reserves the right to transfer your client or child to the appropriate session. If this change is not possible due to space availability, or the proposed change conflicts with your schedule, Holland Bloorview will refund the session cost less the cost of any sessions attended.  Schedule subject to change based on demand. 


Sunday

Children 0 – 13 years, Relaxation, 4 – 4:45 p.m. (Mar 22 – Jun 7)

Ideal for participants with limited mobility; or who are medically fragile with respiratory issues; or who have a low tolerance for high levels of activity/stimulation and therefore require a quieter pool environment with less splashing/movement.   This session is appropriate for children 0 – 13 years.   1:1 support in the water is required. Siblings welcome but must also have an adult one-to-one in pool and pay a fee.

Children 0 – 13 years, Combination, 4:45 – 5:30 p.m. (Mar 22 – Jun 7)

Ideal for participants who do not have a specific sensory preference and can tolerate more general activity in the pool environment.  This session is appropriate for children 0 – 13 years.   1:1 support in the water is required.  Siblings welcome but must also have an adult one-to-one in pool and pay a fee.

We ask caregivers to help us maintain a quiet and calming atmosphere for the enjoyment of all participants.  Please be mindful of the volume of your voice and the topics discussed during the session. This is not to be considered a replacement for a regular pool swim:  please help your child/client refrain from excessive splashing, swimming pool lengths, throwing balls etc.

 

Tuesday

Adult Combination,10 – 10:45 a.m. (Mar 24 – Jun 2)

Can include participants who do not have a specific sensory preference and can tolerate more activity in the pool environment.  This session is appropriate for adult clients aged 19+. 1:1 support in the water is required.

Group session for  organizations/schools, 10:45 – 11:30 a.m. (Mar 24 – Jun 2)

Maximum of 6 children or 5 adult clients *To maximize access, we will not be facilitating private sessions i.e. for one participant only.  Group sessions are for clients from the same organization or agency/ or schools. 1:1 support in the water is required.

Adult Relaxation, 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. (Mar 24 – Jun 2)
