Developing a Semi-Automated, Parameterized System for Upper Limb Prosthetic Design

Katrina's Project

Katrina aims to develop a semi-automated, easy-to-use tool for upper limb prosthetic design using digital technologies (DT) such as computer aided design (CAD) and 3D printing. The main goals include characterizing aspects of prosthetic design, developing an easy-to-use CAD software interface, and evaluating the resulting prosthesis in terms of function, clinical usability, and user satisfaction. This research is crucial for advancing digital workflows in upper-limb prosthetics, allowing for reduced manual manufacturing and data-driven assessments, ultimately enhancing access to high-quality prosthetic care.
