Bronze Cross Course
This course begins the transition from lifesaving to lifeguarding and prepares candidates for responsibilities as assistant lifeguards. Candidates strengthen and expand their lifesaving skills and begin to apply the principles and techniques of active surveillance in aquatic facilities. Bronze Cross emphasizes the importance of teamwork and communication in preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies.
Prerequisite: Bronze Medallion and Emergency or Standard First Aid certifications (need not be current) from one of these approved agencies (Lifesaving Society, Canadian Red Cross and St. John Ambulance).
Course Options: Monday July 19 to Thursday July 23 8:30am-1:30pm
Exam Date: Friday July 24 10:30-1:30pm
Monday August 16 to Thursday August 19 12:00pm-5:00pm
Exam Date: Friday August 20 1:00pm-4:00pm
Cost: $350.00 +HST
Registration Opens: Thursday June 24 at 7:00 a.m.
Please note: Leadership courses with less than 8 participants will be cancelled
100% attendance and active participation is required for the course. Registration fees are inclusive (registration fees, examination fees, and literature).
Due to COVID-19 protocols candidates will practice with manikins for some skills.
