The strategic planning initiative will be an opportunity for clients, families, staff, students, volunteers, scientists, learners, and external partners to reflect on the past five years of achievement and impact. In addition, it’s an opportunity to pause and take stock of the current healthcare, scientific and academic environments while engaging in the development of a new strategic plan for Holland Bloorview.
“We are committed to drawing on the strengths, passions, expertise and experiences of the Holland Bloorview community to develop a plan that will inform our work for years to come,” says Julia Hanigsberg, president and CEO of Holland Bloorview. “We look forward to examining all the ways Holland Bloorview can support healthy and meaningful futures for children, youth and their families.”
Building on the experiences of the past five years, including the COVID19 pandemic, Holland Bloorview’s strategic planning work will initially focus on the following “big questions:”
- What are the concrete next steps to advance equity, inclusion and belonging at Holland Bloorview?
- How can we co-create a restorative, re-energizing environment for everyone who touches Holland Bloorview?
- How do we learn and adapt in our work more quickly and with more impact?
- How do we leverage what we know to individualize experiences and generate impact at the population level?
- How do we grow our capacity to meet holistic and complex needs?
The strategic planning initiative will include a series of interactive and energising engagement activities called Campfires and Sparks, taking place between late October 2022 and January 2023.
- Campfires: Two engaging sessions will be held for each big question, one virtual and one in- person. These sessions have been co-designed and will be co-facilitated by staff and volunteer family leaders.
- Sparks: These sessions will include small group discussions; virtual and local discussion boards; and surveys to bring the questions and topics raised at the Campfire sessions to specific and relevant stakeholder groups.
All clients and families, staff, students, volunteers and external partners are encouraged to participate in the strategic planning engagement activities.
