Dr. Deryk Beal, clinician scientist and lead of the CONNECT Lab (COmmunication NeuroscieNcE disCovery Team) has been selected as a Strategic Fellow at the the prestigious New Zealand Institute of Language, Brain & Behaviour (NZILBB) at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.
In the fall of 2016 Dr. Beal will be spending four weeks at the Institute working with experts in the field of speech and language development, with a focus on new therapeutic brain stimulation techniques for the treatment of communication disorders as well as eye tracking technologies to help non-verbal children communicate.
"I am honoured to have been chosen as a Strategic Fellow at an institution with such impressive expertise," said Dr. Beal. "I look forward to using the knowledge I gain through this fellowship to further drive research in childhood disability at Holland Bloorviewand improve the lives of children and their families."
