Bronze Medallion with Emergency First Aid-CPR-B Course
This course teaches lifesavers an understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the 4 components of water-rescue education –judgment, knowledge, skill and fitness. Candidates learn tows and carries, and defense methods and releases in preparation for challenging rescues of increased risk involving conscious and unconscious victims of various types. Candidates develop stroke efficiency and endurance in a 400-meter timed swim (12 minutes). Emergency First Aid with CPR-B will be combined and candidates will learn the general knowledge of first aide principles and the emergency treatment of injuries. Skills include victim assessment, CPR, chocking and what to do for external bleeding, heart attack stroke, wounds and burns. Includes CPR-B certification. Recognized by Ontario's Workplace Safety & Insurance Board. This course is a prerequisite to the Bronze Cross award.
Prerequisite: Minimum 13 years of age or Bronze Star certification

Exam Date: Friday July 16 10:30-1:30pm
Monday August 9 to Thursday August 12 1:00pm-5:00pm
Exam Date: Friday August 13 1:00pm-4:00pm

100% attendance and active participation is required for the course. Registration fees are inclusive (registration fees, examination fees, and literature).
