- The CDCP is a program run through the federal government that supports with the cost of dental coverage for seniors, children and adults with disabilities
- Seniors over the age of 65
- Children under the age of 18
- Adults with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate
- No access to dental insurance
- If the applicant has the option to be covered and chooses not to be covered, they will not qualify for the CDCP
- Adjusted income of less than $90,000
- Applicant is a Canadian resident and are eligible to file taxes in Canada
- Applicant and their spouse/common-law partner filed a tax return for the previous year
**Tip: If you have coverage through a provincial government social program (Healthy Smiles, ODSP etc) you can still qualify for CDCP. The benefits will be coordinated between both plans to ensure there are no duplications or gaps in coverage.**

- The CDCP will reimburse a portion of the cost of your treatment, but it may not pay the full amount.
- You may have a co-payment based on your adjusted family net income.
- A co-payment is the percentage of the fees that aren’t covered by the CDCP, and that you will have to pay directly to the oral health provider.
- Income of less than $70,000 – CDCP will cover 100% of eligible cost, no co-payment
- Income of $70,000 - $79,000 – CDCP will cover 60% of eligible expenses, 40% of the cost must be paid out of pocket to the oral health provider
- Income of $80,000 - $89,000 – CDCP will cover 40% of eligible expenses, 60% of the cost must be paid out of pocket to the oral health provider
**Tip: If you split custody of a child do not submit multiple applications for a single child. Only one parent should apply per child. Eligibility for the plan and the amount covered is based on the caregiver that applies. The child’s eligibility and amount covered may change if another caregiver applies for that child.**
