Bhavnita Mistry, MA

Bhavnita Mistry is the Research Coordinator for our CIHR-funded Challenge Module study, managing both the quantitative and qualitative parts of this multi-centre project. She is also working closely with Dr. Barbara Gibson on the analysis of the qualitative data from this study. Her current research interests focus on optimal activity spaces for children with multiple significant impairments, understanding how gender affects disabled young men’s identities, health and wellbeing, and barriers to activity participation for children with cerebral palsy. She received her MA in Geography (Health Geography) from the University of Ottawa. Her research focused largely on communicating health risk information to the public, where her thesis examined the media representations of the E.coli water contamination in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada.
