Under Mr. Salem's leadership, Corporate Treasury is responsible for enterprise-wide capital, liquidity, and asset-liability management, including execution of term funding and capital transactions, and management of the Bank’s pension assets and structural interest rate risk. The group also oversees capital investments in, and funding to subsidiaries, as well as the activities of major local Treasuries. Mr. Salem has been with RBC since 1989.
Mr. Salem is an executive member of The Canadian Treasurers Association, and former president of both the North American Asset Liability and the Canadian Asset Liability Management Associations. He obtained an Honours degree in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business, and holds Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Risk Professional designations.
