Welcome to the NOvEL lab. The lab, led by Dr. Shannon Scratch, Clinician Scientist & Clinical Neuropsychologist, conducts research using neuropsychology outcomes, methods, and theory to help people learn about themselves while educating the world around them. Read more about our Mission.
What is neuropsychology?
Neuropsychology specializes in understanding the relationship between brain and behavior. In other words, we look at how thinking skills (cognition), emotions, and behavior change after an injury to the brain.
The goal of neuropsychology is for individuals to better understand how they can live their lives to the fullest.
Our lab takes a clinical approach to research in the following areas:
Clinical intervention and development of evidence-based practice. This work is built on needs identified by clients, families, and clinicians with a focus on co-creating interventions and educational tools, and evaluating clinical practice.
An investigative lens where we work with neuroimaging specialists to better understand the mechanisms and outcomes of pediatric brain injury
