Volunteering at Holland Bloorview is a commitment. Our clients rely on you, the volunteer, to participate in programs. These are the requirements to volunteer at Holland Bloorview:
- At least 16 years of age (or 15 years of age in some program areas)
- Previous experience working with children and/or persons with disabilities preferred
- A positive attitude and willingness to try new things
Summer volunteer opportunities have variable schedules. They range from full-time (e.g. Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) to part-time programs (e.g. 3 mornings per week or evenings or weekends). Volunteers are required to commit to attending all scheduled shifts for their assigned program.
You must be able to complete all mandatory online and in-person orientations and trainings before your start date.
The application period for Summer 2021 is now closed. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee a position. We thank all applicants for their interest. We will be contacting only those selected for an interview.
We are no longer accepting applications for Summer 2021 on-site client program placements. Volunteers must participate in the hospital's active screening process for COVID-19 and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. Volunteers may be required to wear a mask and goggles/face shield for the duration of a volunteer shift. Appropriate PPE and training will be provided by the hospital.
