Celebrate disability inclusion at AccessFest

By Louise Kinross

Looking for something fun for the whole family this weekend?

Check out Toronto's first AccessFest, a festival designed to celebrate disability inclusion.

Try out accessible yoga, visit with therapy dogs, and listen to disabled musicians, comedians and activists.

American Sign Language performer Matt Maxey will lead you through a workshop on how to sign music. He's toured with Chance the Rapper and performed at Kendrick Lamar's 2025 Super Bowl halftime show.

Listen to panels, check out art and a sensory tent, get a free mobility device tune-up, or enjoy a rock concert. You can also do a MapMission Tour, a guided, interactive adventure that maps accessibility in the neighbourhood in real time—led by people with lived experience.

AccessFest is hosted by motivational speaker and activist Spencer West and organized by AccessNow with support from the City of Toronto. Come out between 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. to David Pecaut Square at 215 King St. West.
