Provincial funding increase supports faster access to specialized services at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital

The Province of Ontario has announced $950,300 in additional funding for Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, supporting faster access to our specialized services and transitions back to home for children and youth and their families across the province. This investment, which represents a 2 per cent base funding increase for Holland Bloorview, is part of an overall 3.1 per cent increase in hospital funding, proposed in the 2017 provincial budget.

Julia Hanigsberg, president and CEO of Holland Bloorview, was pleased to join the Honourable Michael Coteau, M.P.P. for Don Valley East and minister of children and youth services and responsible for anti-racism, the Honourable David Zimmer, M.P.P. for Willowdale and minister of indigenous relations and reconciliation, and Tim Rutledge, president and CEO of North York General Hospital, at a funding announcement on May 5, 2017.

"The kids and youth we serve at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital come from across the province, from indigenous reserves to major urban cities. They can easily have up to a dozen or more healthcare providers and multiple, overlapping conditions. This funding investment will help provide faster access to specialized care and support transitioning kids back to their homes as soon as possible.” -- Julia Hanigsberg, president and CEO, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital.
