Protect your community, get your flu shot!

Let’s fight the flu together! Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital launched its annual “Be a flu fighter” campaign on October 15. Holland Bloorview strongly recommends that all staff, students, contractors and volunteers take the annual flu shot in order to protect the clients and families we serve as well as the community against influenza.

This year, Holland Bloorview’s flu vaccine clinic is running from October 15 to November 16. The clinic is open for staff, students, contractors and volunteers to get vaccinated. We are also hosting a public clinic on November 30 for children and families with and without disability in partnership with Sunnybrook Hospital.

Recently, we talked to our leadership team, staff and volunteers at Holland Bloorview to find out what motivated them to become a flu fighter. This is what they had to share:

"As a volunteer teacher assistant at Holland Bloorview, I see every day how much our kids count on us to help them learn, grow, and feel safe. Getting my flu shot is one way I can show up for them and support a healthier environment for everyone. It’s about taking care of each other – as a team and as a community."
