Occupational Therapy team honoured with 2019-2020 Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy ‘Exceptional Fieldwork Partner Award’
Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital has received the 2019-2020 Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy ‘Exceptional Fieldwork Partner Award’ in recognition of the hospital’s commitment to providing numerous high quality occupational therapy fieldwork learning experiences for the next generation of occupational therapists.
“Fieldwork is an integral part of the learning experience for Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MScOT) students as well as a requirement for degree completion,” says Golda Milo-Manson, vice-president of medicine and academic affairs at Holland Bloorview. “We’re honoured to receive this recognition and thank the students who have been so receptive to the clinical teaching in the hospital and our staff who have been resilient and nimble to ensure we maintained the best quality of learning possible. It may have been challenging to coordinate and participate in clinical teaching in the context of a pandemic, but nothing is impossible."
Faculty from the University of Toronto’s Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy nominated partner organizations who have gone beyond expectations to support fieldwork education within the unique and challenging circumstances of the pandemic.
