Global National recently highlighted ECHO Ontario Autism, an innovative training program led by Dr. Melanie Penner that empowers health-care providers with knowledge and support to diagnose autism and provide ongoing integrated care for children and youth— spreading and scaling timely assessments for families closer to their homes.

Dr. Penner was interviewed alongside Dr. Yasir Khan, a primary care physician at the Durham Community Health Centre who received training on autism diagnosis assessments through the program, and Somya, mom to Rudra, who received a timely autism diagnosis from Dr. Khan, thanks to the program.
