Parent Support Network - Understanding Stress and Burnout with the Ontario Caregiver Organization

Parent Support Network - Understanding Caregiver Burnout and Stress, Nov. 17, 2026, 12pm-1:30pm

Parent Support Network (PSN) is a monthly support and discussion event for families. PSN aims to create a space where families can share experiences, information, challenges, successes and strategies. The discussion topic for this month is 'Caregiver Supports: Understanding Stress & Burnout' with Shrid Dhungel from the Ontario Caregiver Organization.

Caregiving often asks a great deal, which is why nearly two-thirds of caregiver’s report feeling overwhelmed by stress and burnout. This is why learning to manage stress is such an important skill for caregivers to develop and practice over time – and we can help you get started. Because caring for yourself as a caregiver is part of caring for others.

In this presentation, participants will learn:

  • Why stress and burnout are so common for caregivers
  • How to recognize the signs of stress and burnout in yourself
  • Practical strategies to manage stress, including doing a simple, personal mini assessment

Parent Support Network is always co-hosted by a Family Leader. Family Leader Protibha Tomar will be co-hosting this event with Family Support Specialists Steph Moynagh and Theja Gunasekera.
