Education & Training

Nazanin completed both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Digital Electronic Systems. Her master's research focused on the design and development of motor imagery-based brain–computer interfaces. She is now pursuing her PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto. 

Research Interests

Nazanin is interested in developing AI-driven systems that interpret sign languages to support more natural and accessible communication between Deaf and hearing individuals. She is particularly interested in helping Deaf and hard-of-hearing children and their families connect more easily in everyday life.

Other Interests

Outside of research, Nazanin enjoys spending time with friends, walking trails, and photography. She especially enjoys capturing the small details in nature and everyday life.
