What is ACT?

Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) is a mindfulness and value-based intervention that aims to help caregivers struggle less with difficult things in their lives and connect with the things that are most important to them.

About the ACT Workshops at Holland Bloorview

Facilitated via Zoom by both Holland Bloorview clinicians and a Holland Bloorview caregiver (Family as Faculty member).

Who: 

For caregivers of children up to 21 years old, who have a disability and/or complex health condition and who have received care at Holland Bloorview.

When: 

Dates: Six Consecutive Thursday Mornings:  October 9, 16, 23, 30, November 6 & 13, 2025

Time: 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Mouzhan Varshoueitabrizi, MHSc

Bloorview Research Institute

Mouzhan received her Honours Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences and completed her Master of Health Sciences in Translational Research at the University of Toronto. Her graduate research centred on co-designing an accessible tool with autistic adults to improve communicating their mental health needs to their chosen healthcare providers.

At the PRISM Lab, Mouzhan is supporting the Clinical Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) Program and projects, with a strong interest in accessibility, human-centred research, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
