Developing Digital Technology for the Design of Ankle-Foot Orthotics (AFO)
Connor's Project
Connor’s thesis is focused on developing digital technology for the design of ankle-foot orthotics (AFO). This involves using an optical scanner to capture the foot shape, and computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems to optimize the shape and fabricate the AFO. Through his research they are looking to align and quantitatively compare AFO models acquired using both traditional and digital shape capture methods.
