Exceptional Governance a Hallmark at Holland Bloorview

We are pleased to announce that during our joint Annual General Meeting on June 17, 2020, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation welcomed new members to the hospital board of trustees and the foundation board of directors. Our joint Annual General Meeting and our cross-appointed members of the two boards are two of many examples of the un-paralleled partnership between the hospital and foundation that makes both organizations stronger.

During the meeting, both boards congratulated and thanked outgoing chair of the hospital board of trustees, William Onuwa, for his outstanding contributions to the success of the hospital during the seven years that he has served as a trustee, treasurer, vice chair, and ultimately chair of the board. Both hospital and foundation look forward to celebrating William with an in person event in the fall.

Marg Rappolt, board of trustees member since 2015, has been named the new chair of the board of trustees for the next two years. Marg is a very active member of the Holland Bloorview community, previously holding the position of vice-chair of the board, chair of the Business and Audit Committee, as well as member of the Governance Committee. We are thrilled to have Marg at the helm of our board of trustees and know we will accomplish great things together.

Poonam Puri, has been on the board since 2016 and has accepted the role of vice-chair. Poonam is a professor of law at Osgoode Hall Law School and has advised governments, regulators and businesses around the world. Poonam has extensive leadership experience on the board, as former chair of the Research, Teaching and Learning Committee, as well as the current chair of the Governance Committee.
