Mouzhan Varshoueitabrizi, MHSc

Mouzhan Varshoueitabrizi received her Honours Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences and Master of Health Sciences in Translational Research from the University of Toronto. Her graduate research focused on co-designing an accessible tool with autistic adults to support communication of their mental health needs with healthcare providers.

As a Research Coordinator in the PRISM Lab, Mouzhan coordinates several research projects focused on improving the health and quality of life of children and youth with complex disabilities. Her work includes studies exploring thermal imaging and feeding challenges to help identify signs of discomfort, hunger, and other unmet needs in children with limited communication abilities.

Mouzhan is also involved in the Clinical Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) Program, where she has supported clinical sessions and explored creative recreational applications of BCI technology, including video gaming, switch-adapted toys, and virtual piano playing. She is passionate about accessibility, assistive technology, and finding meaningful ways to support participation and self-expression.

Outside of the lab, Mouzhan enjoys skiing and skating in the winter, reading manga and webtoons, and discovering new food spots across Toronto.
