Education

Natalia received her Bachelor of Engineering from the Colombian School of Engineering Julio Garavito University with an academic year at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) University of Germany. In 2014, she was awarded the “Young Engineers Germany Scholarship” of the DAAD Organisation, provided to 50 outstanding undergraduate students in engineering of Colombia based on academic merit at a national level.

In 2016, she was awarded a Chevening Scholarship of the United Kingdom Government for her social engagement with rural regions to pursue a Master’s degree at Cardiff University. While she pursued her undergraduate and graduate studies, she volunteered for Engineers Without Borders and UNICEF.

In 2018, Natalia co-founded Girls Change Latin America, a non-profit organisation with the mission of strengthening Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) capacities of vulnerable children of Latin America through open-source educational platforms, state of the art technologies, and inclusive pedagogical programs.

Other Interests

Natalia enjoys writing books, and she is the co-author of five STEAM books for children. She also likes cooking and is learning to play the violin.
