Call to action

Want your voice to help shape more inclusive online spaces for youth with physical disabilities? We are inviting youth with physical disabilities and their caregivers to participate in a study about how youth use online spaces to build social connections.

Who can participate

We are looking for youth with a physical disability aged 14- 24. We are also recruiting parents and/or caregivers of youth aged 12-29 with a physical disability. Caregivers and youth do not have to participate as dyads. Participants must be able to communicate in English using any method (e.g., spoken, written, or assistive technologies).

Funding agency

Hydrocephalus Canada

What's involved

Participation involves completing a brief demographic form, and a 60-minute interview, in-person or virtually. Youth interviews will explore their experience using online spaces for friendship and connection, challenges they’ve experienced, and what helps them feel supported. Caregivers will be asked similar questions about their youth’s online experiences, how they support them, and any suggestions they have.
