Holland Bloorview launches new strategic plan

Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital has launched a new strategic plan, Transformative Care, Inclusive World: Holland Bloorview 2030.

The strategic plan was built on the input and insights of staff, youth, families, volunteers, government, community and healthcare partners. Over 1,400 points of engagement over the course of 9 months were considered in building the plan.

Driven by its vision to creating the most meaningful and healthy futures for all children, youth and families, the strategic plan outlines four goals for the next seven years:

  • Healthy team: Empower a thriving, diverse, staff, equipped with the skills, tools and time to learn, to do their best work and the agency to effect meaningful change.
  • Care that’s agile: Meet the evolving and complex physical, mental, developmental, behavioural and psychosocial health needs of children and youth with disabilities, developmental differences and rehabilitation needs.
  • Care that’s socially accountable: Integrate equity, anti-racism and social determinants of health in all that we do and demand a world that values children and youth with disabilities and developmental differences.
  • Care that’s transformed by research and education: Transform care for children, youth and families that live with disability and developmental differences through ground-breaking discoveries, precision health, education and knowledge exchange.

In addition, the strategic plan highlights five commitments that will be used as a lens to achieve the goals:

  • Caring Safely - Ensure the easy thing to do is the safe thing to do.
  • Co-design - Co-design care, services and pathways in partnership with staff, children, youth and families.
  • IDEAA - Build an inclusive, diverse, equitable, accessible and anti-racist environment.
  • Reach - Share knowledge with health providers worldwide.
  • Sustainable - Lead with a lens on environmental, financial and human sustainability.
