Keelia is an MSc student in Rehabilitation Science and the Collaborative Program in Neuroscience at the University of Toronto, working under the supervision of Dr. Deryk Beal in the CONNECT lab. She received her Bachelor of Arts and Science from the University of Guelph, specializing in neuroscience and psychology, and first joined the CONNECT lab as a Ward Summer Student. Keelia pursued her research interests in cognitive psychology and neuroscience throughout her undergraduate education, including completing an independent project in a cognitive neuroscience lab and a review on a topic related to the cognitive neuroscience of speech. Currently, Keelia’s research in the CONNECT lab focuses on exploring the therapeutic potential of non-invasive brain stimulation to facilitate recovery from pediatric brain injury.

Keelia has been involved in the field of pediatric disability and rehabilitation in various roles, including as the coordinator of a YMCA camp disability integration program, and continues to remain involved through volunteer work. In her free time, she also enjoys getting outside and canoeing and camping.
