Education & Training
Katherine received her B.Sc. in Kinesiology from McMaster University in 2009. She then moved to the University of Western Ontario and worked in the Joint Biomechanics Laboratory on a prediction model to optimize industrial seat use for different vibration environments; she received her Master’s degree from UWO in 2011. Katherine had the opportunity to work as an EMG technologist where she gained an appreciation for the clinical side of research.
Katherine’s research was inspired by a recent family event that gave her a good understanding of spinal cord injury rehabilitation practices. She will be working on an assistive gait device for patients with incomplete spinal cord injuries using mechanomyography technology.
