This award acknowledges individual efforts and accomplishments, along with work in contributing to the University of Toronto's vision and leadership. Patrick also was a finalist for the Adel S. Sedra Distinguished Graduate Student Award.

"It is my honour and privilege to receive this award," says Jachyra. "It inspires me to continue to transcend disciplinary boundaries to conduct innovative research working with children and youth diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in an effort to enhance their health and well-being. I am indebted to the families from Holland Bloorview who are participating in my research. Thank you for allowing me to learn and work with you. This research and award would not be possible without the unwavering support of my supervisor Dr. Barbara Gibson, mentorship from Dr. Evdokia Anagnostou, and guidance from Dr. Brenda Gladstone, and Dr. Rebecca Renwick. Thank you for encouraging me to always push beyond boundaries. Finally, thank you to the Bloorview Research Institute, Kimel Family, and the Autism Research Training Program for making this research possible."
