Vanessa Ballin, CCRP, BSc, (MMSc Candidate)

Vanessa is the Regulatory Research Coordinator for the Clinical Trials Team at the Autism Research Centre. She is responsible for maintaining regulatory and ethical oversight of all ongoing and upcoming trials, which have included studies investigating whether drugs such as intranasal oxytocin and tideglusib can help improve symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder.Vanessa completed her Bachelor of Sciences in Biology and Psychology at the University of Western Ontario and her Graduate Certificate in Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs and Quality Operations at Seneca College. After a number of years in clinical research, Vanessa returned to school to pursue a Master of Medical Science in Global Health at the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden.Vanessa is a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) who, prior to joining the Autism Research Centre, had worked as a Research Ethics Coordinator at the Hospital for Sick Children and been involved in research studies at several other organizations including the Malaria Consortium in Cambodia, as well as the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, and Viventia Bio, which has since been acquired by Sesen Bio.
