We invite all candidates to submit their application to the relevant Scientists’ job opportunity through Holland Bloorview’s Career Centre. Please note that you must create a profile when applying in order to be considered. The Ward Summer Student Research Program runs from May 6 to July 26, 2019.
The application process for the 2019 Ward Summer Student Research Program is now open! Please see below for information on how to apply.
Important information for your submission
You may apply to a maximum of 3 Scientist postings from the list of scientists currently accepting Ward Summer Students for 2019. If you are applying for more than one position, please submit an individual application for each opportunity. Please click here to see the list of scientists' accepting students.
As part of the application process, we strongly encourage that you submit a cover letter for each application that is tailored specifically to the position indicating how your interest directly aligns with that of the Scientist and their research. We kindly ask that you do not contact the Scientists directly.
At the time of application, eligible students must be enrolled in a university or college undergraduate degree/diploma program. Students in medical school may also apply. Students who have taken part in this program before may not re-apply. Students currently in a MSc/MA or PhD program are not eligible for summer studentships.
The program runs for a minimum of 12 weeks beginning May 6, 2019. Students will be paid $14.00 per hour based on a 37.5 hour week, less statutory deductions, including 4% in lieu of vacation and relevant statutory holiday pay. Students will be paid biweekly through payroll.
How do I apply?
Candidates should submit their application through Holland Bloorview's Current Openings to the relevant scientists' job posting.
A candidate application should consist of a single PDF file that includes a copy of your most recent curriculum vitae (CV) including a cover letter, a copy of your most recent unofficial university transcript, and one letter of reference from a professor or previous employer.
If the person providing a reference letter is not comfortable providing it directly to the student, they may email it to BRIevents@hollandbloorview.ca, noting in the subject line your first and last name, as well as the last name of the scientist(s) you have applied to work with. If any part of the application package is missing, the student will not be considered for the position.
Due to the volume of applications received, only students selected for an interview will be contacted.
When is the application deadline?
Applications are due by January 31, 2019. Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
