Researcher(s)

Azadeh Kushki, PhDEvdokia Anagnostou, MDJessica Brian, PhD

Who can participate

We are looking for (two groups):

  • Children age 7 to 16 years of age

  • Clinical diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
  • Not taking medication that includes beta-blockers
  • Previously participated in the Province of Ontario Neurodevelopmental Disorders Network (POND). We are asking for this so we will not repeat the same assessments that were already done in POND.

AND

  • Children 7 to 16 years of age
  • No diagnosis or history of neurodevelopmental, neurological or psychiatric disorder
  • No use of beta-blockers

What's Involved

For this study, you will come to Holland Bloorview for up to 3 hours. During the visit, we will ask you to do an IQ test if you haven’t done one in the last two years. If your score is at least within the average range, we will ask you to watch two videos and play five computer games. As you do this, we will measure your body signals. We will also ask your parents to answer some questions about you.
