Marcela received her Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science from Wartburg College, Iowa in 2013. During her undergraduate studies, she was able to work at the University of Colorado as a research assistant in the Cardiology Department. In this position she developed a project to find the physical characteristics of micro-needle cantilevers that are used to find the force of a single muscle fibril (myofibril). The project consisted of the fabrication of the cantilevers and the testing of such devices.
Marcela enjoys playing soccer and outdoor activities. She loves to travel and to experience new cultures and adventures. One of her passions is service and working with underprivileged children.
