Spotlight on Canadian pediatric health research at the 12th Annual Research Symposium

On Tuesday, November 21, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital will present the 12th Annual Research Symposium and highlight the hospital’s scientific and academic leadership through current and upcoming research that poses the greatest impact in the lives of kids with disabilities and their families.

The 2017 theme – Spotlight on Canadian Pediatric Health Research – will feature the hospital’s impact in co-creating meaningful and healthy futures through discovery and action. The packed agenda for the day includes exciting research talks from each of the Centres of Leadership (Innovation, Participation & Inclusion, Acquired Brain Injury, and Child Development), quick hits, lived experience keynote speakers, poster session, and a special presentation from Dr. Roberta Woodgate, professor at the University of Manitoba’s College of Nursing.

Be sure not to miss this year’s Town Hall, presented by Lisa Boivin, an indigenous artist, storyteller, and member of the Deninu K’ue First Nations in the Northwest Territories. Joining her is Julia Gray, a post-doctoral fellow at Holland Bloorview’s research institute, who will co-deliver a talk on image-based storytelling and indigenous perspectives on rehabilitation.
