Mild traumatic brain injury in youth is largely understudied and little is known about how mTBI affects higher order cognitive functioning along the recovery trajectory. Higher order cognitive functioning is critical for optimal day-to-day functioning, especially in the realms of school, sport and community involvement. Youth are particularly vulnerable to concussion thus gaining an understanding of how higher order cognition is affected by this injury would inform enhanced clinical management.
