Understanding clinician’s perception and experiences with clinical documentation in light of the increased access to health information facilitated by an on-line portal

Clinicians' Experiences with Connect2care

In January 2015, Holland Bloorview launched a new client and family online portal called connect2care.  The portal lets clients and families look at their health records and message their service providers. Web-based portals are making it much easier for clients and families to access health information in a timely and convenient manner.

The aim of this study is to begin to understand clinicians experiences with clinical documentation in an era of increased access to the health record by clients and families. It is expected that the study findings will help us to understand the supports that are needed to improve documentation as well as informing the design of education for clinicians and the structure of electronic documentation templates.
