Optimizing life success through Residential Immersive Life Skills programs for youth with disabilities



The goal of the study is to understand how youth develop life skills as they grow and mature over the course of a year.

Who can participate

Participants in the research will:

  • Be attending a residential or non-residential life-skills program or be a matched non-participating youth;
  • Be between 14 and 21 years old;
  • Have a child-onset disability;
  • Be able to set goals for themselves; and
  • Speak English

What's Involved

The study involves completing questionnaires and interviews.

  • Participants will be part of the study for one year
  • Participants will provide data four times through an on-line survey
  • Each data collection session will take about 30 min


The study will be recruiting participants during the Spring and Summer in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
