Emerson Paul Grabke is in his final year of the MHSc in Clinical Engineering program at the University of Toronto. In addition to the PROPEL lab, Emerson is co-supervised by Dr. Kei Masani at the MASL lab within the Toronto Rehab Institute. His Master’s thesis comprises the design, development and early-stage validation of a standing posture rehabilitation system for individuals with incomplete spinal cord injury.
Emerson previously obtained a BASc in Engineering Science (Robotics stream) at the University of Toronto. His career aim is to bring robotics and rehabilitation engineering experience to the field of medicine as an orthopaedic surgeon, and is currently applying to medical school. On the side, Emerson enjoys studying interpersonal neurobiology, playing squash and practicing his violin.
